Christopher Perry designs and makes modern silver tableware. His aim is to create functional forms through manipulating and deconstructing simple shapes. He uses chasing as an application of texture, drawing the user in to handle these intriguing pieces of silverware. Movement and ingenuity make the user question the application of these playful and functional items. Chris originally followed his father's footsteps into the family business in 1992. Chris furthered his development by attending Sheffield Hallam University, where he graduated in 1997 in 3D Design. He then studied a Masters at the Birmingham School of Jewellery. Chris has been awarded with The Goldsmiths Company award at New Designers, London and has presented his work to H.R.H the Prince of Wales. Professor Rabinovitch commissioned Chris's for his fish slice collection and his work is now on permanent display in the Victoria and Albert Museum.
I'm currently exhibiting work at the Billcliffe Gallery in Glasgow.
I'm currently planning my work for the forth coming Goldsmiths Fair in September.
